LinkedIn Profile Transformation

May 5th 2003, was the official launch of LinkedIn, venturing out into a completely different world of today. Back then, LinkedIn was fundamentally a place to house your online CV and in particular for the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) business professionals. Although, the adoption was slow and on a bad day, as few as only 20 new subscribers joined.

On May 6th 2004, I was one of those early adopters, being a consultant in the telecommunications space and encouraged by colleagues, clients and partners to set up a profile, as it would be great to keep in touch with one another. Additionally, to let recruiters and headhunters find us, as we were typically job hopping every couple of years.

August 2004, was the first significant milestone when LinkedIn reached 1 million members of which I can gladly say I was one of them.

Leapfrogging to July 2020, Linkedin has around 700 million members and was sold to Microsoft in 2016 for $26 billion.

Being at the forefront of technology has its benefits as you can learn all the tips n tricks and have the best online CV, attractive enough to secure many jobs and have recruiters and headhunters coming to you.

Yet, over the many years since my first profile was visible to the wider world, I have updated and changed it considerably.

WHY?

Because LinkedIn has changed to stay competitive with the likes of Facebook, twitter, XING and other social media platforms all offering business users space to grow, network and pay for additional services.

The original online CV style profile, has dramatically changed and therefore your profile should now be part of your Digital Marketing and Sales Growth Strategy, and if it isn't, you are missing a huge opportunity to interact and create more business.

Although, 80% of LinkedIn users still have an online looking CV and don’t maximise their profile to attract new clients.

As I help empower struggling businesses with their growth strategies, then leveraging on the power of LinkedIn is something I not only endorse, but also help transform into a Digital Marketing Masterpiece, acting and serving as your online Digital Signature, your business (calling card), credibility and ongoing Digital Reputation that will follow you everywhere on LinkedIn. Whether you post your own articles, like or interact with others, you will leave your signature behind, so make it a good and memorable one that creates and entices interest.

That is why it is now imperative you transform your profile to ensure it works for you and gives you a competitive advantage either as a Solopreneurs, Startup, or SME.

Having used and followed the changes with LinkedIn since 2004, I know what works and doesn’t. Also, with the recent acquisition in 2016 by MS, LinkedIn is changing significantly, as it also wants to remain competitive and introduce its own services to keep it sticky and attractive, not only for B2B, but also B2C members.

I consider myself as a Maverick leader, a disrupter of the norm and like to explore new ways of working that yield better results. I’m often referred to as the Digital Sales Growth Hacker, as I will help you find the most efficient and straightforward ways to leverage on technology that will supercharge your business.

Many years of experience has taught me a lot, coupled with great client testimonials to show you how your profile can make a huge difference in the way you work and interact with colleagues, partners and most of all new clients.

As you will see from my own personal profile I help accelerate growth, which is and should be part of every companies Digital Marketing and Sales Growth Strategy which is mainly overlooked when you come to personal profiles within LinkedIn.

Yet, should be very much part of this as everything ties back to the person and a personal profile and linking back and forth to your website and other social media is an absolute must to keep the viewer engaged and not lost.

With my 10 (must do) changes, many added tips n tricks and some great hacks (hidden secrets). I can transform an old school online CV into a Digital Masterpiece that WILL attract new interaction and clients.

To attract more clients and interest

Think of your LinkedIn Profile as a landing page. Someone has ended up on it and what are you trying to tell them or do with them?
Is your message clear, do they understand what you do and do they see the value that could be something for them?
If they struggle with this, they will leave, if they can’t find you, you will miss out.
Your message is key to how you present yourself.
- Basically, who are you?
- Who are they — your clients?
- What problem are you solving?
- What results will they get?

My 10 Steps are typically delivered over 30 days (several steps per week via zoom)

I offer:

✅ 1–1 (this is very detailed and in depth, for those that like more privacy)

✅ Groups of around 10 people (this can be great fun, although less individual time, yet you will get the same results and meet new business owners)

Listed below - why your profile matters!

Having a Digital Marketing & Sales Growth Strategy is absolutely paramount to staying competitive and winning clients and this is where most Startups and SMEs are struggling and fail to keep any momentum going. They all start with very good intentions, then start to struggle when they find they are not getting the results they desire and fall short on their expectations, so this is where I help.

Additionally, combining this with a LinkedIn Strategy with your Marketing Strategy, goes ‘hand-in-hand’ and something you must have if you are searching for new ways to create visibility, awareness, credibility and sales growth.

Although, before we start, you need to ask yourself:

  1. How many leads am I currently getting from LinkedIn — per day. week, month?
  2. When was the last lead I got from LinkedIn?
  3. Is my message clear, concise, attracts and hooks?
  4. Am I leading potential clients on a journey through my profile with a desired outcome in mind?
  5. Do I offer a enticer, such as a FREE download (eBook), or complimentary call, or assessment?
  6. Or does my profile look like a boring online CV from 2010 and not reflect the Business Professional that I am?

If you don’t get regular leads, then I strongly believe it’s time to take a serious look at your profile and ask yourself, ‘would I engage with this person?’

To learn more on how to transform your profile into a true Business Professional and use this as a lead generator to attract new business, then feel free to schedule a complimentary call and I will share more. https://calendly.com/visibilityimpact/30mins
